Door
Edge Molding
1.Apply at temperatures of 60-80° F (16°-27° C) to a thoroughly
clean, dry, wax-free surface. Use rubbing alcohol to prep door edge.
2.Cut molding to desired length of door edge.
3.Press molding firmly over door edge contour, allowing adhesive
inside molding to bond.
4.Application takes only a minute!
Wheel Molding
1.It's important to be sure the edge is clean and free of dirt;
be sure to clean underneath the wheel well opening. Use rubbing
alcohol to finish prep the area.
2.Estimate length needed by unrolling molding around the wheel well.
Mark the needed length with wax pencil or score with a knife. Trim
the excess with a sharp knife or molding shears (garden anvil type
pruning shears work just fine).
3.Remove the backing paper so the adhesive side is exposed. Application
works best when using both hands, one to position and the other
to spool out and maintain angle.
4.Press lightly at first so you can reposition if you happen to
get off the curve.
5.Burnish by pressing firmly to help adhesion. You'll be pleased
with this OEM look!
Body Molding
1.Surface preparation is critical; wash vehicle thoroughly. Use
a wax- and- grease remover to remove residue. Follow with rubbing
alcohol to remove solvent film. Follow with clean cloth dampened
with water.
2. Apply adhesive activator to area where molding is to be installed (not necessary for moldings less than 2 inches wide).
This will prime and activate a permanent bond when then adhesive
makes contact to the vehicle surface. It will bond fully within
3-7 days after molding is installed. Adhesive activator is highly
recommended for wider moldings over 2 inches tall.( You can find
adhesive activator at any body supply store or purchase here at
AUTOMEGA).
2.Use a yardstick to determine the position of the molding. Follow
an existing body line. For maximum protection, place molding on
the widest part of the vehicle.
3.Use masking tape to sight the line where the molding is to be
applied. Position the tape above or below where the molding is to
be applied in order to avoid leaving a residue.
4.Measure the molding to size. The molding will remain flexible
until adhered to the body.
5.It is important to apply slowly. The masking tape will assure
alignment.
6.Burnish by pressing molding firmly into place. Trim with
molding
cutters or straight blade pruning shears (found in hardware stores). Seal any chrome ends with clear nail polish for longer life.
7.
DO NOT wash vehicle
for 48 hours.
