Key
Points:
1.
The temperature must be at least 65 degrees Fahrenheit at time of
installation.
2. Do not install product on newly painted vehicles. Paint must
cure completely before any type of adhesive product can be installed.
(We recommend one month)
3. The vehicle surface must be properly cleaned to get the best
adhesion. (See below)
4. When the adhesive touches the vehicle's surface it will adhere
immediately, not allowing any adjustment. Be sure alignment
is correct before installing.
Vehicle
Surface Preparation:
The
surface of the vehicle must be free of any solvents, waxes, dirt,
oil, road tar, and any dealer or owner applied paint sealer treatments.
A solvent wash which removes all contaminates should be used prior
to installing any adhesive products. Automotive degreasers such
as MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) can be used. This product can be
found at any local hardware store. After cleaning the surface
of the vehicle with the degreaser the entire surface must then
be wiped down with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Failing
to follow either cleaning step or both will void the product warranty.
Remove
each stainless piece and check the fit and curvature to the
vehicle body before removing adhesive liner. The product
must match the contour of the vehicle exactly. Failing to dry
fit pieces prior to installation will void the product warranty.
Remove the liner of the adhesive only when the product is ready
to be applied to the vehicle. After removing the liner of the
tape be careful not to contaminate the adhesive.
Align the door piece first. Apply the
door panel by aligning it with either the lower edge of the
door or the body side molding. If you are unsure of the placement
of a rocker panel please contact the technical department
for instructions. Use firm hand pressure after installation
to ensure the best adhesion. Align and install all other pieces
making sure they match up and are aligned properly with the
door panel already installed.
* All rocker panels are numbered from front to back such as
P1, P2, P3 or D1, D2, D3 etc. The "P" indicates
passenger side and the "D" indicates driver side.
Tips for Care
After Installation:
1. Do not wash vehicle for 72
hours after product has been installed.
2. Periodically clean products with a stainless steel
cleaner. This will deter water spots and discoloration.
3. Keep product free of salt and other ice deterrents
to ensure a long-lasting finish.
