the hinges made to fit my vehicle?
- The AutoLoc hinges are universal
and will work with all cars and trucks.
- Can
I install these myself or do I have to take it to a shop to have
it done? Does it require any modifications to fit my vehicle?
- We recommend that you have
AutoLoc lambo hinges professionally installed at a local body
or customizing shop in your area. There are modifications that
might need to be made during the installation that could require
additional fabrication such as rolling or stamping the corner
of the fenders for maximum door clearance.

you offer technical support?
- The manufacturer, AutoLoc,
provides installation instructions with each kit. They have
technical support on their website and a tech hotline as well.
- What
holds the doors up when I open them?
- Supplied with your STANDARD
kit is a pair of 200 pound rated gas assisted struts that holds
your doors open, and make opening and closing your doors easier.
These will not automatically open and close the doors for you,
they just assist you to make it easier to do. They act just
like the gas struts on your car hood. However, there is a fully
motorized DELUXE kit that is available that can open and close
your doors for you automatically at the push of a button.
- What
is the main difference between the Standard kit and the Deluxe
kit?
- The standard kit is a manual
system with gas assisted struts. The deluxe system is a motorized
kit with linear acuators.
- How
high do the doors go up?
- Depending on how you adjust
the hinges, most doors will open similar to this example
photo.
- Are
Lambo Hinges street legal?
- That varies from state to
state. Check your local laws to be sure. As with most customized
products, these are designed for off road / recreational use
only.
- Can the Lambo Hinges work on a 4 Door Vehicle?
- The Hinge systems can be installed
on any car or truck. However, they are made to convert the two
front doors only. They are not intended to convert the back
passenger doors.
